Tanwen is a graduate of the Royal College of Music. As a freelancer, she has played in many orchestras and chamber groups, including Welsh Sinfonia, National Symphony Orchestra and New Queen's Hall Orchestra, performing at venues such as St James Palace and Wigmore Hall, London.

Helina Rees Violin

Helina Rees
A graduate of the Royal Academy of Music and a former leader of the National Youth Orchestra of Wales, Helina has been involved with music most of her life. She runs the Cambria String Quartet, collaborates with singer/songwriters and is a member of the upcoming folk group Elfen.

Jenna Shiells Violin

Jenna Shiells
Jenna is a graduate of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. As well as private teaching, Jenna plays regularly with a variety of string quartets, chamber groups and symphony orchestras, and has performed with solosits including Joshua Bell, Chloe Hanslip, and Maxim Vengerov.

Niamh Ferris
Aside from working with the Mavron Quartet, Niamh has worked with the Northern Ballet and many freelance orchestras. Niamh's diverse music career has included teaching Benedict Cumberbatch the fundamentals of playing the violin for his lead part as Sherlock Holmes.

Barry Friend
After graduating from the Royal College of Music, Barry freelanced in England and Portugal. He has worked with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra amongst several others, before joining the Welsh National Opera in 1999. He takes charge of the WNO Orchestra's tea urn facility whilst on tour!

Nancy Johnson
Nancy is a graduate of the Juilliard School. She freelances in London and Cardiff, working mainly with the London Symphony Orchestra, BBC Symphony Orchestra and Welsh National Opera.

Claudine Cassidy
Claudine, a graduate from the RWCMD and Post-Graduate from the Royal College of Music in London, has performed in a variety of styles including Theatre and Dance. She is currently working as a freelance player with many orchestras and chamber groups.

Lucy Simmonds
Lucy started learning the cello aged 3 and since then music and Lucy have been inseparable. At Durham University she performed extensively whilst completing a science degree, following which she created a career in local government before giving up office life to freelance exclusively. Spot her with orchestras, quartets, folk bands or hear her in Studio Lucello

Jenny Lloyd
Jennifer is a graduate from the Royal College of Music, London. As a freelance cellist, she has worked with orchestras, chamber groups and solo work. Jennifer has had the pleasure of playing in St James Palace, Buckingham Palace Gardens, 10 Downing Street and Boodles Gentlemen's Club in Mayfair.
